We sat down with Sue Morris, recipient of the Enrich Award. She is receiving this award for opening her home to children in need and supporting our mission of enriching children’s’ lives. Sue’s home is full of love; there are five kids, and a dog (and a cat AND some fish). Her openness, candor, and humor are truly appreciated and we loved hearing her story! From our Foster Team:
Sue Morris has been a foster parent with our agency for years; she recently re-opened her home so that she can continue to assist children and families in need. Susan is receiving the Enrich award, and we feel she best exemplifies this with any children that are placed in her home by truly accepting them as a part of her family and allowing them to experience, sometimes for the first time, what it feels like to be a part of a loving, safe, FUN, family system. She Enriches the emotional lives of foster children and their birth families by being totally accepting, nonjudgmental, and absolutely supportive of them. Susan also Enriches the lives of the foster children who are placed with her through the experiences she exposes them to. She and her family are extremely active and busy in extra-curricular activities such as sports, dancing, camping, etc. and Sue makes sure her foster kiddos are exposed to all of this! Regardless of how long foster children are placed with Susan, she Enriches their lives on a daily basis, which makes them happy, successful kids who feel safe and loved while their families work on what they need to do.
